Tenere tank on XT500

Sorry my German is not very good, there seems to be a lot of XT info here. I'm busy rebuilding and upgrading a XT 500 and would like to know if a XT600 Tenere tank would fit the 500 ? There are no aftermarket tanks avaliable for the XT 500 in South Africa.
