150 or 160 on 4,25

Hi people!
I (tried to) read the entries in this topic about placing a 150 or 160 Reifen on a 4,25 Felge in a 3TB XT600E.
I think i understand that 150 is better, since 160 has some cornering problems (That is the part i cannot make out in German), and that i need to cut away some of the Kettenschutz. That is no problem since i have a very small, custom Kettenschutz.
Could someone be so kind to sum up the pros and cons in English ?
(My german is a lot better tan babel fish's )

I did a 150 Michelin Pilot Power on a 4.5 "Felge". I think the 4.25 is to small for a 160 and it looks better with a 150. I have to cut a little bit from the chain guard. That´s all. You can see some pictures in the gallery and XT of the month Mai/05.regards, Dieter (yello35@web.de)

hi zen,

from where do you came from? I guess I`m able to explain you something in englisch. Chaincover is not one of the biggest problems you have. Becouse of wheelsize the chain hits the tyre. There are two ways to fix it: 1st move the wheel out of center line some degrees 2nd put some rings under toothed wheel. But you need longer screws!

Another problem is the oiltank! it`s possible that the tyre also hit it. take care of it, becouse it`s a safety issue!!!
It`s easy to fix. You just need an angel. Mount it in a way, like its pressing it to outside. 5mm might be enough.
